NEW PRAGUE — Payten Gudahl earned a share of third place overall during Tuesday’s Section 2AA Sub-Section Meet at the New Prague Golf Club to guide the Blue Earth Area Bucs girls golf lineup into next week’s sectional championship.
Gudahl carded an 18-hole round of 39-43-82 to top Blue Earth Area’s third-place team total of 374 to qualify for next Tuesday’s 9 a.m. tee times back in New Prague.
Sub-Section medalist Victoria Woytassek and co-bronze medalist Morgan Eckman powered Jordan to a first-place team score of 350 — five strokes better than runner-up Southwest Christian. St. Peter fired a 379 to collect the fourth team bid to the Section 2A Meet next week.
Woytassek proved a model of consistency by sinking a birdie on the par-5 sixth hole to highlight a 2-over round of 74. Woytassek connected for seven pars to pace a front-nine score of 36 before adding seven more pars to fuel a back-nine total of 38.
Kendall Hoag penciled in a runner-up medalist mark of 39-38-77, highlighted by birdies on Nos. 1, 2 and 13 to top Southwest Christian’s runner-up team showing.
Gudahl and Eckman battled to a tie for third place individually, with the Bucs’ junior standout connecting on a birdie on the par-3 seventh hole to pace her team-leading 82. Gudahl chipped in a team-best seven pars to her low-scoring round.
Ironically, Eckman duplicated Gudahl’s round by firing a 39-43-82, highlighted by an incredible 11 pars for Jordan.
Katelyn Storbeck contributed a top-10 individual showing to pack scoring punch for Blue Earth Area. Storbeck delivered a 48-42-90 to garner 10th place overall. She birdied the par-4 No. 16 to complement five pars.
Rylan Storbeck and Madison Ehrich rounded out Blue Earth Area’s counting scores by carding a 98 and a 104, respectively. Rylan Storbeck made three pars to top a 50-48, while Ehrich produced a 54-50.
Lola Lundquist and McKinley Hanson completed the Bucs’ advancing effort. Lundquist shot a 51-57-108, including one par, while Hanson chipped in a 55-59-114.
Adrianna Bixby finished fifth overall to help steer St. Peter into next week’s Section 2A competition. Bixby netted a 41-42-83, topped by a birdie on the par-5 No. 13 to complement seven pars.
